Rock-a-doodle-do! Million Quid Gamble is back in business and we’re doing better than ever before - 3 games of the Premier League have passed and it has yet to cost us a quid. Because we haven’t placed a bet yet.

But there are plenty of tasty games coming up to whet our gambling appetite.

We’ve decided that we need a new strategy. Quite what that is, we don’t know, but we’re working it out.

Happily, Dave has come into some money (either through an inheritance or a jewellery heist in Bond Street) so we’re ready to blow some serious wad on our crazy scheme.

Sorry Rich is having tech problems and hasn’t posted that we bet on an England/Italy double. He also hasn’t posted that we lost, bloody Robbie Keane. I never thought I’d be so disappointed (or surprised) to see him score a goal.

So Big Al’s back at Newcastle. I thought football was becoming more professional and business-like, not romantic and ridiculous! What next? Dalglish back to Liverpool? Big Ron back to Villa? Redknapp back to Pompey (actually that could happen!)

The big question is, will Shearer make a difference? Newcastle looked doomed and we could have made some money on betting against them. Games against Chelsea, Liverpool, Spurs and Villa looked like certain defeats but should we now avoid them?

Why have I asked so many questions? Simple answer, like Mike Ashley, I don’t know what I’m doing.

So flush with our win in La Liga we look to our next step in our Million Quid Gamble. After seeing Bulgaria dominate the Irish for long spells on Saturday, I’m tempted to go for them against Cyprus. A win is 2/5 which is right up MQG’s street but it all depends on one man. One grumpy young man. If Berba plays I think the bet and win will be on, but will he leave the pitch with a smile on his face, I doubt it.

Our Spanish double came in but I’m not sure how much we won yet. I think it’s about £7 something which probably converts to a million Euro’s but I’ll have to wait for Rich to check the Swiss Bank account.

Here we go again! All I wanted to do was spend the afternoon watching Aston Villa (try to) beat Liverpool, but Dave has decided we should get back on the road to winning our Million Quid.

To which end, a brace of bets on the leaders in the Spanish league - both at home, both sure to win. No?

Yes, the title race is back on! (well it depends on which Paper you read). Dare we bet on a Liverpool win against Villa? Hmmm… I’m not sure Rich will agree to that, however, Barcelona and Real Madrid play later though. Could be a Spanish double tonight then.

After being bulldozed by Liverpool, Madrid got back to the relative comfort of La Liga with comfortable wins. The ‘big four’ tag in the Premier League is a bit of a misnomer this season. Villa have stepped up (or have Arsenal stepped down) and Everton are not that far behind. But where’s the ‘Big Four’ in Spain? Valencia, Sevilla and Villareal have recently tried to break in but this year they have been far behind. It’s been too easy for Barca and Real. So why haven’t we been backing them more?! We’ve concentrated far too much on the unpredictable Premier league.

Villa and Liverpool’s patchy league form has seriously affected our gambling and posting abilities.

Chelsea showed yet again that they are struggling to out pace teams at home. MQG showed they are clearly senile for bloody picking them to win again!

WHY? WHY? WHY?

I guess Chelsea need to get the Seven Seas out and we need to go back to Brain Training.
