Introducing the Pro Evo Predictor!

Saturday, November 29th, 2008

Throughout history there’s been many epic battles of man vs machine, Gary Kasparov vs Deep Blue, Mathew Broderick vs WOPR and Rich vs his new Onkyo Amp. But can the brilliant minds at Million Quid Gamble predict the football results better than a PlayStation 3 and Pro Evo Soccer 09?

It’s OK Alistair, we can save the economy!

Saturday, November 29th, 2008

Desperate times for the Chancellor of the Exchequer as he tries to stimulate a shopping boom by cutting the rate of VAT by 2.5%. I don’t know about you, but when I was down the shops yesterday, everywhere was plastered with 20% off signs. And it doesn’t take a genius to go to the Money [...]

Another failed bet, another awesome chart

Tuesday, November 25th, 2008

Yes we failed again. If only my gambling skillz was as good as my Pho’shop skillz.

“They brought the bus and they left the bus in front of the goal”

There are times when Liverpool and Chelsea cruise past teams at home but this weekend they didn’t get out of second gear.  Both home teams looked sluggish after the midweek internationals and maybe we should have thought through our bet more. Chelsea have a full squad of internationals plus a few of them had just [...]

A nice safe double or is it?

Saturday, November 22nd, 2008

At last Rich has decided I can be trusted with full acess to the Blue Aquare account! (I’m sure it has nothing to do with the fact that he’s busy in London). But with great powers comes great responsilbility, hence a rather safe double on home wins for Chelsea and Liverpool. We really need to [...]

Liverpool away still isn’t a safe bet

Wednesday, November 19th, 2008

Yes Liverpool are joint  top of the league with an impressive away record but Chelsea are still the away game certs.
The mighty reds recorded a fine 0-2 win at Bolton but they’ll need to tighten up that defence (Gardner ripped them apart at times) and they’ll need to stop Keane missing the ball before we [...]

We Win! We Win! We Win! We Win!

Monday, November 17th, 2008

Chelsea and Manchester Untied cruised to victories this weekend, turning our fiver into the princely sum of £7.42.
Don’t laugh! That’s a better return that you’ll have got on the stock exchange all year.
In fact, we’re probably doing better than most banks and hedge funds. At lease we haven’t been to the government for a multi-billion-quid [...]

Back to basics with Chelsea and Man Utd

Saturday, November 15th, 2008

So thanks to Burnley’s efforts we’re back to square one. A new fiver it in the kitty and in super-boring style, we’ve backed Man Utd and Chelsea in a double.
Man Utd are at home to Stoke and Chelsea away to West Brom, who are currently propping up the Premiership.
So we should be on to [...]

The Football 365 Betting Thread That Started It All

Saturday, November 15th, 2008

My Mate Dave is a regular lurker on the Football 365 forums. I only go there when he finds something interesting and MSNs it to me.
Stuff like this normally.
So I asked him to go back and find the intial thread that sparked our interest in this football gambling lark, and here it is: A Race [...]

Burnley - worth every penny, eh Didier?

Thursday, November 13th, 2008

Me and My Mate Dave aren’t sore losers.
Yes, Burnley’s shock win (actually, the full-time draw) cost us the princely sum of £12.98 from our Million Quid Kitty, but it was worth every penny to see the look on the Chelsea players’ stupid faces.
WELL DONE BURNLEY!
Bring on another kitty!
